The Knox County School System belongs to District 54 and is accredited by the Nebraska Department of Education and the North Central Association. Knox County belongs to both ESU # 1 out of Wakefield, NE and ESU # 8 out of Neligh, NE. ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS
Knox County has nine elementary schools including seven public and two private.
Bloomfield Elementary is for pre-kindergarten through sixth grades and has roughly 131 students enrolled.
Creighton Elementary is for pre-kindergarten through sixth grades and has roughly 158 students enrolled.
St. Ludger Elementary in Creighton is a Catholic school for kindergarten through sixth graders and has roughly 38 students enrolled.
Crofton Elementary is for pre-kindergarten through sixth grade and has roughly 148 students enrolled.
Saint Rose of Lima in Crofton is a Catholic school for first through eighth graders and has roughly 112 student enrolled.
Niobrara Elementary is for pre-kindergarten through sixth grade and has roughly 76 students enrolled.
Santee Elementary is for pre-kindergarten through sixth grade and has roughly 94 students enrolled.
Verdigre Elementary is for pre-kindergarten through sixth grade and has roughly 88 students enrolled.

Bloomfield Junior-Senior High is for seventh through twelfth graders and has roughly 110 students enrolled.
Creighton Community High School is for seventh through twelfth graders and has roughly 247 students enrolled.
Crofton High School is for seventh through twelfth graders and has roughly 233 students enrolled.
Niobrara Secondary School is for seventh through twelfth graders and has roughly 68 students enrolled.
Santee High School is for seventh through twelfth graders and has roughly 67 students enrolled.
Verdigre High School is for seventh through twelfth graders and has roughly 99 students enrolled.
Wausa High School is for seventh through twelfth graders and has roughly 90 students enrolled.
Knox County has one institute of higher learning, the Nebraska Indian Community College. The Nebraska Indian Community College began in 1972 as the American Indian Satellite Community College to provide post-secondary education on the Omaha, Santee Sioux, and the Winnebago reservations. In June of 1981, the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA) approved Nebraska Indian Community College for accreditation at the associate degree granting level.
