Detailed Itinerary: 

Tuesday, June 11th – Depart from Grand Island this morning with continental breakfast served onboard the motor coach.  We will arrive in Crofton this morning for time to explore the Lewis & Clark Pulley Museum, housing the largest collection of restored hay pulleys in the United States!  Coffee will be available for you as you browse this unique collection.  Next stop, the Lewis & Clark Visitor Center, owned and operated by the Army Corp of Engineers and located on Calumet Bluff just downstream from Gavins Point Dam with exhibits and information on the Missouri River Basin of  Nebraska.  Lunch included today at CJ’s At the Lake.  The is afternoon take a ride in a Model T, see a horsemanship demonstration, visit the gift shop and museum and hear a presentation about life on the WJ Ranch! Live Cowboy music, coffee, tea & dessert included.  A short drive takes us to the beautiful Nissen Winery where you will enjoy wine tasting and hear some Outlaw Storytelling.  Supper included tonight at Sportsman’s Bar & Grill, an old fashioned saloon.  Overnight at Ohiya Casino.

Wednesday, June 12th –  Breakfast Buffet including Frybread and Wojapi at Ohiya Casino followed by a Santee Sioux Nation Cultural Exchange this morning.  Another exciting day awaits us as we head for Standing Bear Bridge and a great photo opportunity before arriving at the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska Powwow Tribal grounds for a tour and and indigenous lunch.  This afternoon experience the Miller Farm with a covered wagon ride through a pasture of native grasses.  Learn about the history of this 5th generation family farm along with it’s blacksmith shop and corn sheller. Our day concludes with a visit to Niobrara State Park for a presentation about the U.S. Army along the Niobrara in the 1860’s.   Supper is served at the Niobrara State Park Lodge.  When night falls and the stars appear we will enjoy Stargazing with National Park Rangers.  Overnight at the Ohiya Casino.

Thursday, June 13th –   Opportunity for an early morning walk on the Tatanka Golf Resort before the breakfast buffet including Frybread and Wojopi at Ohiya Casino.  We return to the Niobrara State Park this morning for a birding or nature presentation.  Next we travel south to Verdigre for a “Czech Camp”!  Experience an authentic Czech meal along with Polka music.  You will have plenty of time to visit the Verdigre Bakery, Amish Farmer’s Market plus other main street businesses in Verdigre.
